Welcome to AggiePrints.com

AggiePrints.com specializes in calligraphic art that relates to traditions at Texas A&M University.

THE ARTIST

The artist, John-Mark Stephenson ' 84, began his training in calligraphy in 1976 in Greenville, South Carolina.  He studied under Roll McEndollar, a teacher whom John-Mark considers to have been one of the great, guiding influences in his life.  Roll's teaching and mentorship imparted to John-Mark his interest and love for the letterform.

John-Mark began his life at Texas A&M in 1980.  Living and graduating from high school in South Carolina, he applied for admission to Texas A&M after a close high school friend of his came back from her first semester at A&M.

"I remember when Lani came back from A&M.  I had already applied and been accepted to several schools around the country -- major universities with national prominence.  Yet, all of the calls and literature I had received from these schools were about fraternities, clubs, etc. Very little was said about the universities themselves.

"I asked Lani why she liked A&M, expecting more of the same.  About two hours later, she finally stopped talking.  She told me of the history of the school, of the traditions, and of the camaraderie of being an Aggie.  She spoke of the 12th man, Sully, Muster, Silver Taps, the Corps, the Band, Midnight Yell and North Gate.  She gave me a wonderful glimpse of what it meant to be an Aggie.

"I decided right then and there that I had to be a Texas Aggie.  I applied to A&M, was accepted, and showed up to register for classes without having ever seen the campus!"

THE PRINTS

The seed of Aggie Spirit that was planted that day in South Carolina grew into a passion for A&M that John-Mark strives to reflect in his art.  In 1984, he founded Pen & Ink Calligraphy & Design and created his first print in the Aggie Print Series.

Currently, there are four prints that can be purchased from AggiePrints.com; "War Hymn", 12th Man", "Spirit" and "Roll Call" which are collectively the Aggie Print Series.

In development is "The Last Corps Trip".  Plans are for this print to be issued in Summer of 2004.  There will be a limited number of signed and numbered prints available for this issue.  Pre-sales for "The Last Corps Trip" will begin one month prior to issue of the print.
